*NOTE* Age groups are as 2007/08 season registrations.

All teams must be affiliated to their relevant County Football Association.

No academy, school of excellence or representative sides shall be permitted to enter the competition.

Prior to the start of the competition each team shall complete a list of players and hand this in at the team registration

Players can only play for one team during the competition. Any team breaking this rule will have any points gained deducted and awarded to the opponents with a 2-0 defeat registered

Substitutes shall be on a "roll-on / roll-off" basis but only during a break in play and with the referee's permission.

Match duration will be:

  • 8 team league - 8 minutes one way
  • 7 team league - 10 minutes one way
  • 6 team league - 12 minutes one way
  • 5 team league - 14 minutes one way
  • Semi-finals and final shall be 12 minutes one way

Any player sent off or cautioned twice shall not be allowed to continue in the competition

The referee shall be responsible for notifying the Executive Committee of the result of each game.

3 points for a win, 2 points for a score draw, I point for a no-score draw

The top two teams from each group will go through to the semi-finals, which will be a straight knockout

If the teams are equal on points at the end of the group matches goal difference will count. If teams are still equal 5 penalties to decide the winner and then sudden death. Same penalty procedure shall apply if teams are tied for the semi-finals and final after an initial period of 5 minutes extra time

The referee's decision on the field of play is final.

Executive Committee decisions are final and irreversible

Presentations to the winners and runners-up shall be made at the end of each day's competition

Under 7, 8 & 9 Age Groups

Each team to consist of a maximum of 10 players - 6 players & 4 substitutes

Normal small-sided soccer rules shall apply.

Under 10 to 15 Age Groups inclusive

Each team to consist of a maximum of 8 players - 6 players & 2 substitutes

Normal football rules apply up to the goal areas with the following exceptions:

  • All throw-ins to be underarm (bowling action) and below knee height
  • Corners to be kicked in
  • Players must stand a minimum of 2 metres from the ball when defending a free kick, corner. or throw-in
  • All free kicks are direct
Goal area rules

  • Goalkeeper must stay in his/her area or a penalty will be awarded
  • Goalkeepers can only throw the ball out underarm (bowling action) and below knee height back into play - no goal kicks. Any ball adjudged to be a foul throw will result in a penalty
  • Goalkeepers can control the ball with their feet inside the area but must bowl the ball back into play. Any ball adjudged intentionally kicked back into play will result in a penalty
  • A defending player intentionally entering the goal area shall result in a penalty
  • An attacking player intentionally entering the goal area shall result in a foul and play be restarted by the goal keeper
  • Pass backs to the goal keeper are allowed but once the ball is returned into play it must be touched by a minimum of 2 players before it can be returned back to the goal keeper. If the ball is returned straight back to the goal keeper a free kick shall be awarded
